This past weekend Bernice and I went down to Talize, a thrift store in Delta to look for clothing to bring to Tonga. We both had success in finding what we were looking for. I was able to find 2 pairs of pants that I thought would suit the working conditions we would be in. Bernice snagged a bucket hat and a pair of pants to bring along. We decided to go to a thrift store to look for clothing because we figured that we are only gone for 11 days, 7-8 of those days we will be working. After that, I will most likely never wear those pants again, same with Bernice. We both decided that once we were done with them, we would donate them to locals on the island.
Along with pants, we are also bringing other things to donate to the kids in Tonga. I am bringing 2 frisbees, some extra clothing and old books that we don’t use anymore. The only problem with bringing things over to Tonga is how it is going to be distributed amongst the locals. I don’t think that will be too much of a problem though because I am not the only one bringing stuff to donate, and together as a class I am sure that not one person will be left out.
Until next time,
