Blog #34 – What More Can I Ask For?

This year marks the last of the many journeys Mr. Matheny has gone on for Global Perspectives. When I was first informed about this situation, I was in a state of shock because it definitely surprised me. I was upset about it as well because I wanted the younger grades to go through the same experience as me and my other classmates. I think that this program is extremely beneficial for everyone since it enables one to realize and learn the importance of giving back.

I know that there were a few grade elevens who were devastated to hear this news and I too would have felt the same because they’re missing out in this once in a lifetime opportunity. I was looking forward to sharing my advices and life lessons with the younger grades who share the same interest as me but now I won’t be able to do that since they’re not able to experience this next year. I’ll still be able to share the journey I’ve embarked on however, it just wouldn’t feel the same.

Hearing about this unfortunate information made me realize how thankful I am to be a part of this program. It allowed me to be even more grateful and cherish every single second left. Not everyone gets to encounter this type of opportunity and I can’t help myself but constantly thank God for the blessing he has decided to provide me with.
