#17 Lest We Forget

12 Nov 2017

Every year, the Remembrance Day long weekend is always a very busy time for me. This Remembrance Day, the Richmond Youth Honor Choir performed at Fraserview Church on Nov 10 and at Richmond City Hall on Nov 11. Throughout the choral season, the Remembrance Day performance is the only performance RYHC holds that is free admission because we believe that peace should be shared and shouldn’t come with a price. The purpose of Remembrance Day events is to pay respects and to honor those who fought for our freedom.

On Saturday morning, my cadet corps attended the annual parade around Richmond City Hall. I’ve attended the parade every year since 2012 with my corps, but this year was different because I’m the new Regimental Sergeant Major, meaning I lead the corps. Prior to the parade, there were many preparations and rehearsals required to make the parade run smoothly. Overall, I’m very proud of how my cadet corps performed and it could not have gone better for my last year with the cadet program.
