Quotes

Here’s what some of our past students have to say:
“My greatest ‘aha’ moment was realizing that we don’t need a lot of things to make us happy; we can’t put monetary value when we talk about happiness. We think that in the western society we are so great because we have everything, but in reality, we lack some of the fundamental aspects to true happiness.” Angelica Laron

“It’s true – during the next year, you Grade 11s will develop such a special bond with your location that, if you’re like me, every single time you see a map, you’ll check if your country is there, just to make sure, like a parent looks after their kid.” Bruno Lam

“We are part of an ongoing process of learning how to be better local citizens from the global connections we make and how to be better global citizens by expanding our local roots. Global Perspectives is not simply a trip, it’s not even just about philanthropy. It’s a lifelong journey. We learn to seize every opportunity possible to do something, always, no matter where we are.” Joyce Lin

“Because of Global, I learned to value why I was in school and the benefits that I was born with, that millions were not, are not and will not be born with. I know for a fact that we all matured  a little over the two weeks in Samoa, and I am confident that we will continue to implement important values onto one another, which will eventually spread to a wider community because it is why we are doing so, that drives our passion to pay it forward.” Tessa Yin

Samoa '13

“Global Perspectives allowed for me to self-reflect and reaffirmed my aspirations for the future, a future in which I will gladly contribute to the local and global community.” Ivan Chen

“Each one of us has a T-shirt. On the shirt it says: We Are One Team. I will always treasure this shirt because I think it holds the most important message of all. We accomplished this as a team. Without the help of every single individual, we couldn’t have done it. Global Perspectives isn’t about any one individual. While we may have gone into the program as individuals, we came out as one team.” Ge Li

Before the wheels leave the tarmac, there is a huge support network that keeps Global Perspectives going.
